A tour among Bologna and Parma. 4 days dedicated to Emilia and its excellences.
From September 19th to 22nd Itinere had the pleasure to have 8 guests from USA to discover our amazing territory.
An itinerary full of interesting artistic and gastronomic goods.
On first day guests discovered the ancient heart of Bologna, with tasting, having the possibility to do some shopping. In the late afternoon, the group was transferred to an agritourism near Modena, in a relaxing and tasting atmosphere, where they had a typical dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
On second day visit at the Ham Factory with tasting, lunch with different aging of the famous Parma Ham: one of the most iconic, appreciated and known products of Made in Italy. Guests followed the process from start to finish, discovering every secret beyond its goodness. In this special farm the ham comes from black pigs, which belong to an ancient local breed that had once almost completely disappeared. A guide accompanied the group to the woods where the pig is outdoor reared, to the biodiversity park, to the aging ham caves, concluding with a delightful tasting of this DOP product, extremely verified, authentic and excellent. In the evening, dinner in typical restaurant, with local products and wine.
On third day visit to a cheese factory, where guests were introduced about the process of Parmigiano Reggiano: the producer is the only one to guarantee a “unique” organic cheese, meaning that it is produced entirely on the promises of their “closed-cycle” organic farm. English tour of the Panini Museum in Modena: one of the finest collections dedicated to the Maserati, here are kept the cars that recall the most important steps in the history of the “Trident”, painstakingly assembled during the years. Following, visit to the Modena city centre with tour leader, discovering Piazza Grande, the Cathedral and Ghirlandina Bell Tower, recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site; the indoor market in Via Albinelli where all types of food are sold, from Parmigiano Reggiano cheese to Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena.
In the afternoon Ferrari test drive, guests discovered the pleasure to drive a real “Rossa” and then relax and tasting in a local winery, to discover Lambrusco with an english guided visit.
