From May 4th to 6th, the latest edition of CITIES Emilia-Romagna took place. This premier B2B event brings together international tour operators with a single mission: promoting the extraordinary assets of our region.
This year’s edition placed a special spotlight on cultural heritage, highlighting the deep historical roots of Emilia-Romagna’s cities and artistic attractions, showcasing the unique aesthetics of our urban centers.



ITINERE’s role at the workshop
Once again, ITINERE has confirmed its strategic role in promoting Destinazione Turistica Emilia. The team actively participated throughout the event, managing the logistics for exclusive experiences tailored for international tour operators.
The activities were divided into three key phases:
- Destination presentation: A deep dive into the tourism potential of Reggio Emilia, Parma, and Piacenza.
- B2B workshop: A morning of direct networking at Palazzo Isolani (Bologna), effectively matching supply and demand.
- Field experiences: Organizing familiarization trips to give international buyers a first-hand look at the region, turning commercial interest into a concrete connection with the land.
Out of the five regional FAM Trips scheduled, two were directly organized and managed by the ITINERE team.
FAM Trips: Discovering Destinazione Emilia
The tours allowed foreign operators to experience the quality of the Emilian offer through two distinct thematic paths:
1. Castles and Flavors
An itinerary dedicated to discovering local fortifications, enhanced by innovative virtual reality tours and gastronomic deep-dives focused on Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
2. Cities of Art
A second group explored the heritage of Parma and Piacenza, visiting landmarks such as the Collegio Alberoni and the world-famous Masone Labyrinth.
Both routes featured tastings of local products, emphasizing the unbreakable bond between culture and the excellence of the Food Valley.
